Ginny
Ginny’s passion to help women find fulfillment in their personal and professional
lives certainly stems from her own work and life experiences. After earning
a Bachelor’s Degree from UCLA and a Masters Degree from Loma Linda University,
Ginny enthusiastically started her career working with women at the YWCA Genesis
Program in Richmond, Indiana. Ginny switched gears a bit when she returned
to California and began working for the Los Angeles County Office of Education,
Paramount Unified School District and finally the Pasadena Unified School District.
In 1997 her 8 year marriage fell apart leaving Ginny as a single parent. Life
was difficult as a single parent but she persevered and kept her life in order. Ginny
remarried in September 2000, became pregnant and took on more responsibility
with a new husband and two new step-daughters. Life was a whirl wind as
she continued to balance a fulltime job, a new baby, a new husband and a total
of 4 children in the household. In 2005, she tried to regain more balance
in her life by quitting her fulltime job, devoting more time to her children,
and taking on a more flexible work schedule assisting her husband with the family
real estate business.
In 2006, when Ginny turned 40, she felt unfulfilled, uninspired, restless. She
questioned whether she was doing what she was born to do? She decided to
invite creativity back into her life. She wrote to her creativity as if
it was a person and her ideas began to flow. She wondered if other women
her age were feeling as she did. She decided to create a pilot group consisting
of 9 women in their 40’s and beyond to meet, clarify, set, and work towards
goals and observe whether this process was empowering women. Looking at
herself, her friends and family she saw that women are at a pivitol point in
their lives when they enter their 40s. Menopause and hormone changes loom,
work lives change or stagnate, children become more independent. Many women
of this age have spent years serving and caring for those around them while neglecting
their own passions and personal needs. Thus was born Friends 4 Fulfillment, a
goal-setting program for women. Ginny is now listening to her inner voice
that is telling her to live, dream and create because her life can’t wait. Can
yours?
SUSAN
Whenever women gather to talk about their dreams and plans,
Susan wants to be around. As a psychologist, she has worked
professionally with women in all kinds of circumstances. More
importantly, she has personally experienced many of the challenges
and life detours that most of us encounter as we try to find
our true calling.
She graduated as an English major from Stanford University and
got a teaching credential at U.C. Berkeley. While teaching
high school English, she helped students explore their values
through creative writing. Her interest in writing led to
her next job as an editor with Sunset Magazine.
Thinking she wanted to become a High School Guidance Counselor,
she went back to school at U.C.L.A., where her career changed
course again. She worked as Director of the Women’s
Center at Los Angeles City College while earning a doctorate
in Counseling Psychology with a specialization in Organizational
Behavior. After years as a counselor in the community college
system, she transitioned to industry and served as Director of
the Employee Assistance Program at The L.A. Department of Water
and Power. She spent the next several years combining a private
practice, management consulting and teaching psychology and parent
education classes.
Her personal life also had taken some unexpected turns. She
divorced and remarried, hoping all the while that she could become
a parent. It did not come easily, but she emerged with a son
and a daughter and soon will be watching her youngest head off
to college.
Susan is now employed at Caltech as Associate Director of the
Staff and Faculty Consultation Center. Her serendipitous
meeting with Ginny rekindled her passion for working with women,
especially those who are encountering empty nests, looking forward
to retirement and wanting to discover new interests.
Anita Zoroghlian, LMFT
Anita has always felt excited in discovering and helping people
with their gifts and their dreams. As she believes that dreams
are a part of a higher calling. She feels excited when people
talk about their dreams, and she has always believed in following
her dreams, and helping others do the same. She finds that having
support in this journey, and step by step guidance has been very
heplful, as she has found Friends For Fullfilment.
Anita was born in Venezuela, to Armenian parents from Lebannon,
and she soon moved to Uruguay with her family. She noticed growing
up that she always loved singing. She communicated with the divine
in this way, and she found solace and soothingness in hard times
as she sang. She noticed this as a passion and a dream. Also
she felt compelled to help people, and she became interested
in Medicine for a long time, and after a while, after having
moved to the USA with her family, and having gone through UCLA
physiological science program, she realized that she did not
want to be a doctor anymore, and decided to become a psychotherapist,
and went to school for it at Phillips Graduate Institute, in
1996. She soon enough also became interested in Integrative Body
Psyhotherapy, where she studied for 4 years, and felt that this
was a way to connect the body and the mind, emotions and spirit
all toghether. Anita worked at various places, including the
Wellness Community, Kaiser Permanente, as well as her own private
practice. She moved to Santa Cruz for a couple of years where
she completed her first album, with her band Magic Beyond Words, and
with her dreamteammate and bandmate who has been very supportive
in the dream cultivation.
Currently Anita is studying hypnosis at the Hypnosis Motivation
Institute to help people when they feel stuck in the same patterns
in their lives, to breakthrough and have more fulfilling lives.
She is very grateful that Ginny walked into her life with Friends
For Fulfillment, which has been very helpful in her life as well.
And she has seen strides in the women in the group, which she
feels happy about.
Victoria
Victoria’s desire to help others fulfill their dreams comes from deep in her heart.
Looking for personal growth, she worked with Doctor Vera Schiller de Kohn (World renowned Durckheim Psychologist) and participated in a deep psychology process within a group structure for a period of 4 years. Near the end of the cycle she was able to lead the group. This experience was unforgettable because by listening to other people’s stories she came to the realization that we, human beings share much more than we imagine, regardless of social, economic or nationality differences. Her friends from that group have been her friends for a lifetime.
In the pursuit of our dreams we all have encountered our share of struggle, Victoria believes the power to overcome every obstacle lies in the inner self, but having friends by our side is an enormous bonus that can help us take a quantum leap anytime. When she listened to Ginny talking on the radio and learned about Friends for Fulfillment she could not stop herself from going to see her in person since this program resembles her previous efforts. Friends for Fulfillment is for her a wonderful way to give back to others and to life itself.
Victoria is from Quito, Ecuador where she lived for 31 years, she moved to the US in 2001 in search of new challenges. Her experience has taken place in South America and in the US, working in Organizational Development and Human Resources for various multinational companies. Some of the Companies that she has worked for include, Lufthansa, Air France and Alcatel Telecom and American based companies like Sealy Mattress, holding several positions of increased responsibility. She holds a MS & BS in I/O Psychology from the Catholic University and has a Certificate in Human Resources Management from UCLA, she also holds a National Certification from HRCI / SHRM as a Senior Professional in Human Resources. She has been a yoga and meditation practitioner since the age of 14.
In her personal life, she married her long term boyfriend but after a few years they both came to the realization that they were better friends than husband and wife and then went through a painful divorce.
A blessing came along in 2008 when she remarried to an all American boy who she loves with all her heart and is extremely happy to share her life with. In order to marry him she was required to resign her last position since he works for the same company so she is currently looking for her next professional adventure. She believes she does not have her life solved, but she is living it!!
